Why Delay In Asia Cup 2023 Schedule: Nothing has been cleared yet regarding the Asia Cup 2023. After this the schedule of the World Cup to be played has arrived. The Asian Cricket Council is in talks with Pakistan and Sri Lanka to finalize the venue for releasing the schedule. The program may be released this week. It is getting delayed due to the venue.
Pakistan’s Lahore and Sri Lanka’s Dambulla are considered favorites to host the match. Earlier Colombo was the choice in Sri Lanka, but the plan has been changed keeping in view the monsoon season. However, by this week everything can be clear regarding the venue of Sri Lanka.
Speaking to ‘InsideSport’, a BCCI official said, “There are some last minute details that are yet to be taken care of. The tentative schedule is shared with members. It should be released by this week. There is a problem in Colombo due to monsoon. We could expect an India vs Pakistan match in Colombo, but rain could be an issue.”
Under the hybrid model, Pakistan will host four matches, with all the remaining matches being played in Sri Lanka. Matches will be held in Lahore, Pakistan. The tournament will be played from 31 August to 17 September. In the same tournament, India Pakistan match will be played in Sri Lanka. But the final decision is yet to be taken.
The new PCB chairman rejected the hybrid model
Please tell that the new chairman of Pakistan Zaka Ashraf had raised questions regarding the hybrid model. Zaka Ashraf said in a press conference, “The first issue is that I have rejected the hybrid model in the past because I do not agree with it. The Asian Cricket Council board had decided that it would be held in Pakistan, so we should host it.”
There will be no change in the hybrid model
An official said, “There is no question of changing the hybrid plan. Don’t forget that it is the PCB that requested the hybrid model. They can change stance with every new president but it does not work at the will of one person. Logistics, broadcasters, among other things that are involved.”
